My Hubby BESTEST !
As corny or cliched it might sound, my hubby is the BESTEST!
I have always loved surprises and gifts! and Today, I got an iTouch(8GB) along with a bunch of pink tulips as a surprise gift!

Its undoubtedly the best gift I have got so far and ofcourse the best gadget I ever owned! Its so stunningly thin and sexy, I'm afraid to even touch it :P
The features are so cool, especially the sliding feature, game apps, full fledged browser, Wi-Fi connectivity! Words fail me to express how happy I'm to a be a proud owner of an iTouch!
Click here for a detailed tour, if you are interested!
To "The one and The only" :
HUGS! Thanks a lot for the gift sweetie pie, Am too lucky to have you in my life! You Simply ROCK! Love u loads! :*
People who have such brilliant ideas for surprises should implement it more often, I say :P

In a BAAD mood!
Orkut Account Deleted
Whenever I log on to gmail, It had become a habit to logon to Orkut as well. Then I used to browse aimlessly on some profiles and wile away my time! Today, I deleted my account. Am at peace now. Let peace prevail..

Photo Tagging on Picasa

The photo tagging feature on Orkut was fun! Now picasa has launched it too!
Click here to read more about it..
Haven't used all the features yet, but it sure looks enticing!
It based on face recognition.. It groups similar people and suggests name tagging..
Ain't it the cool???!??
Try it!
Laugh at yourself
Seen the movie Chicken Little? Remember the ugly duckling "Abby Mallard" ?Myself and her have such uncanny resemblance! Long face, big eyed, buck teeth and big feet!
I know most of them would agree with it! :-)
Laughing at yourself is the best thing to do!
Weirdly enough, I do it all the time and I love it!
Most do not laugh at themselves coz the urge to show the world that they are "perfect" and don't want others to notice the silly situations they are in..
I say :
Its OK to act/look stupid
Its OK to mess up,
Its OK to make mistakes,
Its OK to do some retarded deeds
Its OK to NOT be perfect
It makes your heart feel light and the world seems a happier place to live in..
BTW, My hubby agrees with me totally, these days my nickname has changed from Kandy to Abby :D Keep laughing!

I hate
I hate ,when people condemn me in public
I hate ,self centered humans who fail to see their own faults and always blame others
I hate ,when people change
I hate ,when people don't empathize with me or other people in general
I hate ,people who pretend
I hate ,to wake up early in the morning or when I don't get sleep
I hate ,to be alone when am down
I hate ,when things aren't going my way or isn't done how its supposed to be
I hate ,when my hair gets wet
The list is longer but these top the list..
Am I abnormal? :P

Oversmart ? You bet, I'm!
Out of sheer boredom and an attempt to save my left-over hair I decided to use my ingenious brain! One of those countless instances where I think I have got-it-all-right and goof up..
Lately, my hair fall has increased to exponential levels due to the chlorine content of the water here. I hadn't made any effort to stop the hair-fall until today!
I am overprotective about my hair. I used to take utmost care of it almost always.
Be it covering with a duppatta while pillion riding, using the hood of my jacket (for which i have received god-knows-how-many-smirks), oil massaging, applying mehendi, amla powder bla bla bla!
I 'insisted' my Mom to send me a packet of amla powder, methi powder and shikakhai powder through a fellow cousin , even after her warning that it might not be a good idea to use them here (US) for reasons which are going to be mentioned a little later.
So, I beat the egg and mixed it with Methi, Amla powder and applied it to my hair and left it for over 30 minutes. (Not to forget, the unendurable egg-smell on the hair). The trouble started while applying the mixture itself - The chunks of methi balls started falling all over the floor/bathrug, the sink was getting dirty while I was applying etc etc. - but I continued with process convincing myself its for my good.
Then, I decided to take bath and the endless fun starts!
I put on the shower and started to scrub my hair when these methi chunks started falling off, the bath tub started getting slimy, the shower curtains and the walls were full of the mixture, and to top it all the bathtub started clogging due to this - These stupids don't even have a bigger outlet for water!
It took me nearly 1 and 1/2 hrs to finish my bath!! I had to scrub the bathtub, the shower curtains and the walls to get rid of the slime. I'm fully not satisfied abt the scrubbing part though. I could see traces of it, but did not have the patience to continue!
Tomorrow I should call the caretaker to see my bathtub is unclogged! Uffffffffffffff!!
Laugh your butt off people!!! I deserve it for my stubbornness and stupidity! ( Bekittaa nanigeee?? )
Wish I had listened to my mom, Decided that I will never ever do this exercise again till my stay here. One of those innumerable days when I miss my mom and Bangalore :-(
When in Bangalore, I would grind the soaked methi seeds (never used methi powder before) and Mom used to apply to my hair delicately making sure not to drop the ground methi on the floor and even put on the rubberband to my hair 1- To avoid, the ground methi which falls off as it drys and thereby dirtying the floor , 2 - I need not wash my hands after touching my hair which was applied with the mixture. She used to give me a thorough headbath (after which sometimes I used to crib that the oil is not gone at all) and clean up after me - my hair, methi leftovers all over the wall/floor! She used to even dry my hair coz I wasn't 'strong enough' to remove the water and later I don't catch cold.
Life is slowly teaching me lessons.....I miss you Mom, I really really do...

I believe I can float.. Oops! Swim!
I joined swimming classes last Tuesday! Hoping to make my dream of me and hubby swimming together come true.
By the looks of it, I may or may not! :-(
Its soo exhausting.. beating my legs is one of the 'crucial' things I forget all the time.
Somehow I have this in my mind, that I'm too light weighted and can float in water! :-)
Wish I really did float!
I can use either my hands in water or beat my legs to sail thru. Not both! Talk about multitasking! LOL!
They provide us with swim boards to learn and I am stuck every meter !! I can hardly go forward. Supposedly I don't peddle my legs enuf!
Either I end up drinking chlorine(and what not! yikes) water thru my mouth or nose,
or stand up in the pool
or laugh seeing other bad swimmers (learners) just like me
or block my ears with water and keep trying to get it out of my system!
Did I mention? My instructor is cute :P I wont give up ofcourse!

Calvin and Hobbes
I love this kid - Calvin - Totally!
He oozes out cuteness from every inch of his body!
The overtly creative, super smart for his age kid, Calvin with his stuffed sarcastic tiger Hobbes make a perfect hilarious comic!
For all you Calvin lovers , this is the complete series LINK
http://www.marcellosendos.ch/comics/ch/
His imaginations run wild and his philosophy is as good as it can get!
He is allergic to homework, school and enjoys lazing around or watching TV.
He imagines himself to be animals, space characters and sometimes Superheroes!
Calvin is surely Cuteness personified! :-)

We completed an year!
We celebrated our first year anniversary this September 13th.
Its a wonderful proud feeling, a feeling of accomplishment :-)
Celebrations started in the morning - Went to the Pomana Ranganatha Swamy temple, Did archana and had Free Food which as always tasted heavenly.
Next Stop was Croton Dam - A beautiful place just 6 miles from our house. Its the largest hewn stone structure in the world after the Pyramids of Egypt! Unbelievable!
The dam overlooks a beautiful park which is closed currently for construction purposes. Spent an hour or so, Clicked a few pictures and returned home.
Planned for a restaurant called Jaipore ,but later found out that they don't serve buffets on Saturday night :-(
So, we canceled the plan and had pizza in the night.
No regrets -- I absolutely love the PIZZA's here!
Thanks to Hubby Dearest for making this happen and a wonderful day. May the happiness roll on for many more years to come.

Missing amma's food!
For the foodie I am - Given an opportunity, I will catch the next flight home and land at amma's house and eat ENDLESSLY, without a break! :D
mavinkaayi chitranna, southekaayi avlakki, huggi huNsehaNnu gojju, bendekaayi kaairasa, to name a few!
Miss it totally! :-(
When I had all the options of eating out I would always whine about amma's food.
Would go ask her "Can't you make something delicious? Always rice, sambar & tambuLi"!
Now, that I cook daily - I know the difficulty - Lesson learnt!

sErEnDiPiTy

I just love this word - Serendipity ! Not for the meaning or anything, its just the way it sounds.. I can keep telling it for no reason - Serendipity, Serendipity ! (Ain't it nice?)
Not all movies leaves a smile or a tingling effect on you. This movie did. (To me at least )
Had heard about this movie from a couple of friends, but hadn't got a chance to see it.
I had seen the ad's on TV , But for the "name" , I would have surely forgotten to catch it on time :D
Thoroughly enjoyed the movie. From the tag line, the romance, the humor, the near-misses, the phone-number-on-a-5$-bill, the name-on-the-book, the British accent of Sara ;) ... Everything..
I believe in fate too but wouldn't risk writing my phone number on a bill! ;)
A old movie, but I recommend seeing it once!
and for the last time I want to say it - Serendipity ! :)

Finally !!
After much contemplation , Finally I decided to create a blog!!
I have always been a fan of reading others blog, so today i thought why not have one of mine.
All these days, I used to think (like many other first-time-bloggers am sure) - Will I have the patience to write a blog? What will I write in a blog? What if I cannot write a blog daily? What if lose interest mid way?
Come to think of It, WHO CARES? :-)
If i lose interest, let it be dormant for a few days , weeks - Something interesting will come along which I will feel like writing down.
Happy that I came out of my laziness and started one!
Hope I write one entry at least - Daily ! (or may be occasionally :P)
Cheers to me!
